With the game knotted at 5-5 in the sixth, the Devil Rays took a one-run lead and would hold on. B.J. Upton singled with one out and then stole second and moved to third on Kelly Shoppach's throwing error. Zobrist then grounded out to second as Upton scored to make it 6-5.

Brian Stokes then pitched a scoreless seventh while Juan Salas and Shawn Camp combined for a scoreless eighth. Al Reyes came into the game in the ninth and closed things out to notch his sixth save of the campaign.

Cleveland plated two runs in the second to take an early lead. Josh Barfield hit a single up the middle to score Trot Nixon, who doubled to lead off the frame. A ground out by Andy Marte then plated Shoppach, who reached base on an infield single earlier in the inning.

The Devil Rays scored three runs in the home half of the second to take a 3-2 lead. Wigginton started things with a solo homer and Delmon Young followed with a single and moved to second on a ground out. Upton then doubled to plate Young and Zobrist's single brought Upton home.

Tampa Bay added two runs in the third to up its lead to 5-2. Wigginton singled with two outs and Young brought him around with a double. Akinori Iwamura then singled to right as Young hustled home.

A three-run homer by Hafner in the fifth evened the score at 5-5.

Game Notes

The Devil Rays defeated the Indians for the first time in the last seven meetings overall...Seo's victory was just his second with Tampa Bay in 20 starts overall with the club...Cleveland left nine runners on base.
